It will fun to cook together with kids and will be a gratifying experience for you once they take a bit of it.

What you will need
- · Dates – 1 cup
- · Coconut oil – 1/4 cup
- · Sea salt – 1/4 tsp.
- · Maple syrup – 1 tbsp.
- · Vanilla – 1 tsp.
- · Water (if needed)
- · 2 apples (diced)
- · Sourdough bread (sliced, or bread of choice) – 1 loaf
- · 2 eggs
- · Milk – 1/2 cup
- · Butter – 1 tbsp.
- · Cinnamon (optional) – 1 tsp.
- · Coconut (crystals, optional, could substitute raw sugar) – 1 tsp.
How To Do It
- For caramel, mix the first 6 ingredients until smooth; adding water to reach desired consistency.
- In another bowl, combine milk, eggs, cinnamon, and coconut crystals well. Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture to coat both sides.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat (or spray it with cooking spray). Place bread slices into pan and fry on each side until lightly crisp.
- In another skillet heat diced apples until warmed through. Mix together apples and caramel. Top French toasts with caramel apple mixture. Drizzle with real maple syrup if desired.
