Chipped Beef Dip Recipe

Chipped beef dip is one of our favorite hot dips to serve for for game day, as an appetizer or to take to a potluck. Warm chipped beef dip is a classic appetizer that everyone loves.

Chipped beef is slated, smoked dried beef that has been sliced paper thin. Chipped beef was once an American kitchen staple and is also known as dried beef. Look for chipped beef in small jars or plastic zip bags at the grocery store.

I will serve chipped beef dip with anything crunchy and able to scoop up dip. Fritos, corn chips, slices of toasted baguette or pumpernickel slices are always a good idea.

If you have leftovers, and that is a big if, I will keep the dip covered in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. There might be some separation of liquid from the dip. This is not a problem. Just stir it back in as you heat it.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 ounces chipped beef, diced
  • 4 green onions, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. Cream together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
  3. Stir in the diced chipped beef and sliced green onions.
  4. Spoon into a baking dish and smooth.
  5. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until dip is bubbly.
